Meet the Team

Ed Pritchard
District Lead Volunteer

Hi,

I’m Ed Pritchard, District Lead Volunteer for Shropshire Severn and Teme District. I have scouted since I was a Beaver, predominately in this district and it is great to now lead that same district that I was once a youth member of, along with my excellent team of volunteers both at group and district level. During my time as an adult volunteer I have helped to run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections, Group Scout Leader, Assistant District Commissioner for Scouts and before taking on this role in January 24 I was Deputy District Commissioner to my predecessor.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to volunteer in one of our groups or join my district team.

Anne Woolridge
District Chair

Hi,

I’m Anne Woolridge, the Chair of the District Trustee Board. I have a long family history of scouting, my father was a Scout then a Rover Scout in Wolverhampton in the late 1940s and early 1950s. My parents were heavily involved in the fund raising campaign to build the Hut in Shaw Lane. I was in Albrighton Brownies, Guides and Ranger Guides until Scouting started to let girls join Venture Scouts, I was the first girl to join Albrighton Venture Unit and then moved to East Shropshire Venture Scouts when I passed my driving test as they had other girls there. I left Scouting in the mid 1980s, met my husband, had a family, PTA etc all routine stuff. I was invited to the 90th anniversary celebrations for scouting in Albrighton, met my old venture leader, became an Explorers leader and was ‘invited’ to become Chair of the District Trustee Board. I am the Chief Operating Officer of a Environmental/Health and Safety Technical Consultancy and have a background in compliance and governance.

Stephen Humphrey
District Treasurer

Hi,

I’m Stephen Humphrey, the District Treasurer, it’s my job to look after the finances to ensure that the district team can best support the young people of Shropshire Severn and Teme. I have a long history in Scouting, attending my first scout camp before I was even born (my parents were both leaders). I started in Beavers and moved through the sections being lucky enough to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Thailand when I was an Explorer. As an adult I have led a Scout Troop in Northampton before moving to the District Team as a Trustee and Finance Officer. My wife and I moved to Wellington about two years ago now and I am looking forward to helping out the district team and the groups as I can. If anyone would like any help or advice on the finance side of things, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
